China’s Invasion of Our Southern Border
As China prepares for a kinetic war with the U.S., might it be time to seriously respond to the influx of Chinese military age men illegally crossing our southern border?
In a recent Newmax interview with Eric Bolling (clip at 16:30), U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-TX, cited numbers of what appear as military age Chinese men illegally crossing our border.
While similar comments have been made by others, specific daily numbers have not routinely been discussed. Per Cruz,
You want to talk about threats to this country. Come to the southern border, which Joe Biden refuses to do. Come to the Rio Grande Valley. See what happens every single day. I was just on the southern border the day before yesterday. We’ve had over 7 million people cross illegally. When I was there several weeks ago in Brownsville, they were seeing 90 to 100 Chinese nationals every day, many of them young men of military age that are coming in.
Now Eric, help me on this. I may not be an expert on geography, but I’m pretty sure China isn’t right to our south and it says something why Chinese military age males are coming through Mexico across our southern border because Joe Biden and the Democrats are letting them in. We’re also seeing record numbers of people on the terror watch list. If you’re a radical Islamic terrorist, if you’re a jihadist, right now Joe Biden has an open invitation: come to our southern border and cross. And we’re going to see a horrific attack, tragically I fear, from these Biden open borders and they don’t care about solving it.
Gatestone Institute senior fellow Gordon Chang has long been sounding a similar alarm.
“There are certain Chinese coming in that are really disturbing,” Chang told Maria Bartiromo earlier this summer. “Packs of Chinese males of military age, unattached to family groups pretending not to speak English. These are probably saboteurs who are coming in on the first day of war with Asia.”
House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Mark E. Green, MD (R-TN) echoed this concern when talking with Fox News’ Neil Cavuto:
On top of that, 10,000 plus Chinese nationals, a massive 300% increase [this fiscal year]. It’s crazy. And we now have information that some of those are tied to the PLA. Our open border is a national security crisis.
Other outlets provide more detailed news and analysis.
In a Newsmax op-ed, former CIA officer and Vice President for Research and Analysis at the Center for Security Policy Claire M. Lopez wrote of the uptick in illegal Chinese aliens:
Journalists like Sara Carter, Jennie Taer at The Daily Caller, and Michael Yon on Twitter have been documenting a notable surge in Chinese migrants crossing the U.S. southern border in FY 23 (that began 1 October 2022).
Between October 2022 and April 2023, over 9,000 Chinese migrants, most of them single adult males, were encountered by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents. Just through April 2023 (7 months into FY 23), that marks a nearly 400% increase in Chinese encounters over the total for the entire FY 22.
This does not even begin to account for the numbers that have made it across our border undetected or among those called “got aways.” Indeed, the numbers of Chinese men observed entering, within, and exiting the Darien Gap number many thousands more than those actually encountered and/or apprehended by CBP.
With another piece, Do China’s ‘Jungle Tigers’ Pose Threat to U.S.?, Lopez reports even more threatening details:
Even more concerning is that villagers and others have seen some of these Chinese men celebrating their safe passage through the Darien Gap by killing chickens and drinking shots of their blood. As explained to us by Chinese virologist Dr. Li-Meng Yan, that is the signature training ritual of the so-called “Jungle Tigers,” a Special Operations Forces unit of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
Now, two additional reports should get our attention, adding to the alarm over the illegal alien invasion overall and specifically because of reports about possible PLA Special Forces among them.
In an April interview with Fox News, Muckraker.com founder Anthony Rubin discussed hundreds of military age Chinese men traveling through Panama’s Darien Gap as they move toward the U.S. border. In explaining use of this treacherous route, Rubin said:
This would be for people who can’t fly into the U.S. directly. So what they do is they get on a flight, and they fly into some South American country. Then from there, they would go to Colombia, they would go across the jungle, pop out in Panama, and then they would head up to the United States. But this is going to be for people that can’t fly into the U.S. directly. … You’d rather just fly into the U.S. and overstay your visa. This is for people that don’t have that access for whatever reason.
He noted that “it’s fair to be concerned about the groups showing up at the Darien Gap at the Panama-Colombia border” and additionally mentioned how many people he filmed “do not want their faces on camera.”
Either they are foreign actors that are coming over here for nefarious reasons. … or number two, these are people that are afraid of some sort of retribution by the Communist Chinese Party.
“If it’s number two, well then what does that mean? That means that these people are going to be beholden to the Communist Chinese Party once they’re here. Oh, you’re in the United States. Okay, well, we’re going to threaten your friends and family back home in China unless you do X, Y, and Z.

And it’s not just our southern border. On his AND Magazine substack, retired CIA Operations Officer Sam Faddis asks Why Are Chinese Coming Into Florida By Boat From The Bahamas?
Per Faddis:
The reality is that this uptick in “self-smuggling” by Chinese nationals is not occurring in a vacuum. There are a number of well-known factors that ought to give us pause and make us seriously consider that what we are seeing is not simply economic migration.
First, the Bahamas have been a haven for smugglers for many years. In fact, there have been in the past a number of cases of Chinese nationals showing up in South Florida hiding on board luxury yachts. Individuals claiming to be operating tour companies have pocketed serious cash by hiding Chinese below decks and then turning them loose at marinas in Florida. The Bahamas are, of course, also well known for the level of narcotics smuggling that occurs.
The Chinese government also has a massive official presence in the Bahamas. The biggest Chinese embassy in the world is in the Bahamas. The Chinese are actively acquiring property there in proximity to an extremely sensitive U.S. Navy underwater test range. The Chinese have been caught tapping into cellphone networks in the Bahamas to spy on Americans. Some estimates are that there may be as many as 600 Chinese intelligence officers assigned to the CCP’s Bahamas embassy.
He notes this development while also acknowledging the “very troubling increase in the number of military-age Chinese males coming across our southern border” reminding that “no reasonable explanation for that phenomenon has been offered nor has that flow stopped.”
In another piece, Faddis asks when do the suicide bombings start here as “we all share a border with Afghanistan now.”
Terming it “stark reality,” Faddis writes:
The Biden administration’s decisions to abandon Afghanistan to the Taliban and relinquish control over our southern border means that Islamic terrorists now have a safe haven from which to operate and easy access to targets inside the United States. The massive increase in the number of individuals on the terror watchlist being apprehended tells us that our enemies are taking full advantage of both of these things. They are already sending attack teams our way.
Remember Cruz’s words: “we’re going to see a horrific attack, tragically I fear, from these Biden open borders and they don’t care about solving it.” Sadly, Cruz’s fear is well-founded. As also should be yours. And always remember who cares nothing about solving it.
