Who Gets Punished and Who Doesn’t

All the legal traumas that Donald Trump is facing, and all those that Hillary Clinton isn’t facing got me to thinking.  If you go back in time, most politically-charged riots have come from the Left.

Remember the 1960’s protests at the University of California Berkeley, the Watts Riots in Los Angeles, violence at the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago, and, of course, the 2020 summer riots arising from the death of George Floyd.

Yes, arrests were made, but nothing like the zeal we’ve seen when the Right mounted a single breach at the U.S. Capitol.

And, look at Hillary and what she did with the Steele Dossier and her home server.

Worse than Trump?  Well, yes, but Trump is the one that gets punished.  Being a Democrat has its advantages.

The BLM violence of the summer of 2020 vs. the Capitol Riot of January 6.

As I’ve said before, January 6 has become Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year’s for the Left, and especially progressive media like CNN and MSNBC.

It’s the gift that keeps on giving, and provides left-wing commentator with instant fodder to demean Trump and accuse conservatives of being white supremacists.

CNN, meanwhile, has been forced to live down a screen graphic that claimed the violence in Kenosha, Wisconsin was “fiery, but mostly peaceful.”

But more to the point, in a summer fraught with murder, assaults, arson, rock-throwing at police, burning and overturning of automobiles, and chants against police such as..

“Pigs in a blanket, fry ‘em like bacon,” and, “What do we want?  Dead cops.  When do we want it?  Now…”

But how many of these thugs were arrested, charged, and sent to prison?

Some were, but in many cases, no charges were filed, or charged were filed and later dopped.  There was little media coverage of any punishment for the riots, and certainly no live TV as we saw in the Derek Chauvin case.

Video:  Ronald Reagan asked about “negotiating” with student protesters.

Oh, but January 6 was different.

Apparently, you do not enter Nancy Pelosi’s office and put your feet up on her desk without severe consequences.  In fact, the government has made it apparent that no right-wing protests will be allowed.    Meanwhile, in Austin and New York, BLM protesters have been awarded cash payouts because police were mean to them while they were rioting.

Note that the cop who put his foot on George Floyd’s neck in order to restrain him was convicted of murder.  Note that the cop who shot J6 protester Ashli Babbitt was not charged.

Officer Derek Chauvin was unaware that George Floyd was drugged up to the point that he was already in danger of death by overdose.  The Capitol Policeman who shot Ashli Babbitt knew that he was using a lethal weapon.

It’s all about who gets punished and who doesn’t – and which side of the aisle you’re on.

Hillary Clinton vs. Donald Trump.

A lot could be written about the Clinton and their myriad scandals, but let’s keep it simple.

Hillary Clinton maintained a likely illegal home server with sensitive and documents that ought to have been classified, if they were not.  President Barack Obama knew about it.  FBI Director James Comey, citing mere incompetence, stated that no reasonable prosecutor would indict Hillary.  Her aides were allowed to destroy their hard drives with hammers.  She was not punished.

Video: The infamous “no reasonable prosecutor” explanation.  What does that say about jack Smith?

Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee financed an opposition document called the Steele Dossier that purported to have dirt on Donald Trump.  Here’s a short description Wikipedia:

“The opposition research conducted by Fusion GPS on Donald Trump was in two distinct operations, each with a different client. First were the Republicans, funded by The Washington Free Beacon. Then came the Democrats, funded by the DNC and the Clinton campaign.”

The Democratic operation that actually produced the Steel Dossier was focused on Trump’s Russian connection.  It turned out to be a pack of lies.  Hillary was not punished.  Hillary never is punished.

But Special Counsel Jack Smith has indicted Trump for “lying” about the stolen 2020 election,  and for having classified documents at Mar-a Lago.  We are told that Trump could die in prison, if the Democrats get their way.  He is being punished.

Trump was impeached twice – once over his self-described “perfect phone call” asking Ukraine to investigate Biden for getting a prosecutor fired.  Biden has admitted he did it – and there’s ample video of it.  It appears to be a bribe.

Trump was the one punished, with impeachment.  In spite of video evidence and whistleblower testimony, and a corroborating FBI form, CNN maintains that there is “no proof” against Biden.

So, who gets punished?  And who doesn’t?

It appears to be a matter of which party you belong to, and how important that party thinks you might be.  Benny Johnson writes about “The Ghost in the Machine,” and says this:

“It’s far superior to control who CAN run for office.  And who is allowed to WIN that office.  And who is allowed to STAY in office (i.e. Nixon and JFK).”

That’s one of the scariest passages I’ve ever read in a political column.  It has the ring of truth.  It’s all about people whose names we don’t even know, but who seem to be in control.  You vote, but they make the real decisions.  If they don’t like a particular candidate, they will destroy him.  We’re seeing this in action right now.

It all about who gets punished.  And who doesn’t.
