Living in the Logical States of America
President Trump has worked to undo Joe Biden’s border disaster, fight the diversity movement, stop the surgical mutilation of children, and ban men from women’s sports. These are among the most insane and dangerous ideologies of the Left.
These items are not just political issues of the day; they are a remaking of societal values.
Donald Trump, almost single-handedly, has made it okay to keep America from going down the road to almost certain destruction. Congress can, and will, fight about budgets, spending ceilings, tax cuts, and how much we ought to spend on welfare and foreign aid. In the long run, these are small issues that pale in comparison to the break-up of the traditional family, our failing schools, and so forth.
We just had four years of crazy. It’s time to make America logical.

Joe Biden’s senility isn’t the only thing that doomed the Democrats in 2024.
Joe Biden, his handlers, or his autopen pushed the United States of America almost to the point of circling the drain. There are plenty of columns written by me and others that go over the disaster that was the interregnum between the two Trump administrations. But I thank God and the American people that neither Biden nor his replacement, Kamala Harris, was voted back in. America is a strong and resilient country, but it can take only so much.

To be blunt, it wasn’t Biden’s day-to-day decisions that would have doomed us. Yes, he screwed up the Afghanistan Withdrawal, stood by while two wars started overseas, obliterated the southern border, and passed massive spending bills.
Please understand that when you elect a Democrat, and he’s got a friendly Congress, he will pass tax-and-spend bills. That’s what Democrats do. They exist to tax and spend. Republicans get elected to try and undo the damage, but they often like to spend too. That’s politics as usual. Wars will come and wars will go. People die in them, families grieve, and the world goes on turning.
However, when Biden opened up the southern border, his intention, assuming he was sentient, was to change the United States of America forever. Biden’s actions were the most blatant since the days of President Lyndon B. Johnson and Sen. Edward M. Kennedy. Biden was abandoning the age-old American ideal of the Melting Pot in favor of a total demographic change that would lead to America becoming more like foreign countries rather than other way around, and would likely lead to a permanent underclass that would vote for Democrats in perpetuity.
Biden, who once told NBC’s Tim Russert on “Meet the Press” that America had decided once and for all that marriage was between a man and a woman, appointed a Supreme Court justice that could not define “woman.”
Video: The Russert clip is hard to find. But here’s Joe in a debate with Sarah Palin, opposing same-sex marriage.
Video: And here is Biden signing the same-sex marriage bill into law.
Donald Trump in his second go-round, far wiser and more attuned to the ways of Washington, has systemically began to unravel the damage that Biden foisted upon our country. He’s done well in fighting diversity/equity/inclusion, ending taxpayer-funded subsidies for state media NPR and PBS, and exposing Harvard and the rest of the Ivy League schools for being infested with Marxist professors and antisemitic students. So far so good. There is much work left to do.
Saving kids born out of wedlock.
It’s been said that marriage between a man and a woman has been the norm of society for 10,000 years. But not anymore. The Left has succeeded in normalizing same-sex marriage, and single-parent households are common. Usually, the female of the pair that produced a child is left holding the bag. This is not just a political problem; this bodes ill for the future of society as we have known it.

To be blunt: a man that fathers a child and simply walks away is not a man. A real man takes care of the child he created. In these days of DNA testing, it’s not hard for a woman to identify the father of her child. We need a rock-solid law that any man who fathers a child is responsible for taking care of that child’s basic needs until the age of 21 – or he will go to prison for the rest of his life. Think about that, and how it would totally change our society.
Saving marriage.
If you get married in a fever hotter than a pepper sprout, but the fire goes out, it’s your decision to stay or go. What would country music be without divorces and other forms of unrequited love? But government makes it worse. The so-called “marriage penalty” is one problem that ought to be fixed. Another is government programs that enable women to work the system and get paid for having children.

This 2021 family photo shows Chasten and Pete with the babies – a shot to strike terror into the hearts of America’s enemies should Pete become president (Fair use)
What about same-sex marriage? In spite of that embarrassing photo of former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg (and his husband) holding the twins, I’m libertarian on the issue. If two men or two women want to live together, that’s fine with some caveats – if we’re going to have a logical society.
First, marriage is by definition the joining by God of a man and a woman. So, Pete and his “husband” should be in a government-recognized civil union. Marriage is what you do in a church – and not one of today’s “progressive” churches that are really just churchoids. (That’s my term for something that functions as a church, but seems to be more about the secular political world.)
Two other things —and yes, I’m radical on the subject. By definition, a man cannot have a husband and a woman cannot have a wife. Make up some new words, because misusing these terms is disgusting. “Partner” or something like it would be more accurate. The other thing is adoption. Children need a female mother and a male father.
As I said, I’m not trying to stop anyone from living the life he/she wants, but I am against the grooming of children. Marriage – real marriage – is an important part of society, and the Left in our country has desecrated it.
Saving our schools.
The education issue is very simple. Fix two societal elements that are broken, and the schools will soon be back to where they ought to be. The first issue is what we discussed earlier – the sad state of the family in our country. A child in a two-parent home with a mother and a father that love and care about him/her will always do better than the poor child who has a single mom and brothers and sisters that may have different fathers. This used to be scandalous, but in today’s progressive society, there’s no stigma. In fact, the Left has endowed the single mother with a type of hero status. You want good schools – you have to fix this.

The other big item that hasn’t been mentioned yet is far simpler. It’s called “English Immersion,” and is a system whereby all classes are taught in English with the exception of foreign language classes. No exceptions. It makes sense. It’s been tried in California and test scores shot up (See Ron Unz and “English for the Children.”)

The story of Ron Unz and “English for the Children” is told in my book “Clear Moral Objectives,” published in 2003.
But California, being progressive, shot the program down because it was mean to students that didn’t speak any English. Of course, it wasn’t; it was, in fact, the best thing that could happen to them. But to the Left, all that matters is feelings. To hell with test scores, they seem to say. We must teach the little darlings in their own language. And so, they do, and schools fail and get taken over by the state.
Of course, the teachers’ unions would hate this plan for two reasons. First, it works, and that’s bad. Second, bilingual teachers often make more money and we can’t end that lucrative little stipend. Remember, it worked in Oceanside, California, but check today and see if it’s still in effect. Today’s schools are not about what works, but about what teachers’ unions want.
Add abolishing teachers’ unions to the list of how to improve schools. And, for that matter, we ought to rework the concept of the school superintendent and an elected school board. There are far better ways to run our schools.
Political problems are negotiable, but societal problems are existential.
Rush Limbaugh talked about being on the cutting edge of societal evolution. He was right. That’s where we all should be – grokking it, knowing where it is, and where it is going. Society both improves (abolition of slavery and Jim Crow, women’s rights, etc.) and regresses. It seems logical to embrace the changes that make our society stronger and speak out against those that threaten our shared future.
The national budget is important, but how much more so is the traditional family? How important is it for a child to grow up with a mother and father than to fight an expensive and losing battle against climate change?
Sometimes we worry about the wrong things.
It would be great – awesome, even – to live in the Logical States of America, but logic and common sense aren’t practiced enough in the halls of Congress. It took a junkyard dog like Donald Trump to get back on the track of ending the Left’s insanity. We still have a long way to go.
