Why the Epstein Files are Important

Where does the Epstein case stand in the annals of American history?
The Teapot Dome scandal was about the secret leasing of federal oil reserves. Iran-Contra was a Reagan-era arms sale to Iran in an attempt to free American hostages in Lebanon and defeat the socialist Sandinistas in Nicaragua. Watergate was about a break-in at the DNC headquarters and the subsequent coverup.
The Epstein case, in my mind, is different. And worse.
Jeffrey Epstein was a financier and child sex-offender who befriended the rich and famous from politics, Hollywood, and the corporate world. How did Epstein get his fortune? Was he a secret agent, and for which countries? Above all, did Epstein provide underage girls for his circle of friends?
The Epstein case goes to very heart of good versus evil, and morality versus depravity.

The case also relates to the character of people often held up as world leaders.
I’m not writing about who’s been caught up in the web. I’m writing about why it’s important to know what kind of people represent us in Washington or who have become billionaires selling us stuff. Secret leases and illegal arms sales, or shady political shenanigans notwithstanding, they pale in comparison what was or may have been taking place on Epstein Island. Or on board the Lolita Express.

There are two categories of depravity about which we should be concerned. One is whether Epstein was a spy. Some think he worked for the CIA or Israel’s Mossad – doing what? – getting big-shot politicians and captains of industry in compromising positions? Or gathering information for whatever countries he was spying for?
The other category is the child sex ring he is supposed to have masterminded along with the help of his lady friend Ghislaine Maxwell. Of course, Epstein is dead and Maxwell is doing time. He can’t talk, and she might, but wants a clemency deal first. If she was involved in luring and grooming young girls for Epstein’s pleasure, and that of his friends, she may never get out of prison.
Ghislaine’s behind bars and two prominent people – former Prince Andrew and former UK Ambassador to the US, Peter Mandelson, were both arrested on suspicion of leaking secrets to Epstein. But what about the sex ring?
I want to know everything about everybody involved with Jeffrey Epstein.
The great villains of fiction, Lex Luthor, the Joker, the One-Armed Man, Professor James Moriarty, the Mule, Hannibal Lector and so on are no worse than the real ones. King Herod, Caligula, Adolph Hitler, Pol Pot, Chairman Mao, Vladimir Putin – are these actually worse than the fictional villains, and should we add Jeffrey Epstein to the list?

If so, who’s hanging on his coattails? Who leaked information? Who decided that a sexual massage from a young girl was too big a pleasure to refuse, assuming nobody ever finds out? I’m not jumping to conclusions here. Maybe every single one of the elites who rode on Epstein’s plane or who went to the Island had no idea that Epstein was trafficking in young girls, or that he might have been a spook. Maybe they’re all innocent. But many have taken the fall, though no one has been charged in the United States. I find that hard to believe.
The questions asked in his column ought to be answered.
Two Republican senators that I admire have made no bones about it; they want all the files released except for victim’s names and photos, nude or otherwise, of underage girls. Senator John Kennedy, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee from Louisiana, said:
Release the documents. Redact the names of the victims. Don’t release photographs, naked or otherwise, of minors. Release the documents. This is not going to go away until there is full disclosure.
The Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa said the law passed by Congress last year and signed by President Trump was unambiguous.
I think when we pass a law that says all documents need to be put out, it seems to me all documents need to be put out.
Prominent members of the Democratic Party, seeking to smear Donald Trump and not caring much about what happened to Bill Clinton, are using the Epstein Files to attack Trump, who plays into their hands by blasting those who want full disclosure. Although he reluctantly signed the bill.
It is a fact that several presidents have not wished to release all the files, including Joe Biden. It’s also true that the MAGA movement wants the files released, and Democrats and Republicans have traded places from time to time on who wants them released and who doesn’t.

We’re in a place now where the Democrats are still thinking they can use the files to get Trump, and Republicans seem ready to let the chips fall where they may. The Republican-Democrat team of Congressmen Thomas Massie and Ro Khanna have worked to get all the files released.
But what if President Trump is compromised? Or Bill Clinton? Or Bill Gates? Or Alan Dershowitz?
I have no feelings about that whatsoever. I’m a perfectly normal man who enjoys the company of women but would never entertain the slightest thought of taking advantage of underage girls. Anyone, whether in politics, entertainment, or business who would engage in something like that is the epitome of evil. People such as that should not be running corporations, much less the government.
We can stick our heads in the sand and say we’d just rather not know. Or we can demand full disclosure.
I’ve always wondered how Lex Luther keeps coming back for more when he should be locked up forever, but of course, he sells comic books and movie tickets. In the real world, such people as Russian dictator Vladimir Putin or the despicable Ayatollah Ali Khamenei are murderers who should get quick due process and then executed.
I’m not calling for that in the Epstein case. I’m calling for full and complete disclosure, with the victims protected, but not anybody else. We the People have to know everything in order to conclude whom to arrest and indict – if anyone.

Teapot Dome, Watergate, Iran-Contra and the dozens of scandals surrounding Bill and Hillary Clinton are all nasty and important. But the Epstein case takes the prize for the most lurid of all – if it’s even true. Part of it surely is, as evidenced by the facts that Epstein is dead by his own hand (so we are told) and Ghislaine Maxwell is convicted and incarcerated. That means there’s a there there.

So, what now? Who did more than simply ride the plane and visit the island? Did anyone? Were they all so blind (as Bill Clinton claims in his testimony) that they did not see what was going on all around them? I was born on a Thursday, but it was not last Thursday. The things that Epstein is generally considered to have done are evil. If people in high places took part, or knew it was going on and said nothing, that’s evil too.
This scandal transcends politics.
If the people I support are guilty of leaking secrets or engaging in sexual activities with underage girls, they should take the fall. If you support the other side of the aisle, and your guys are guilty, they should go down too.
I hear from politicians all the time that “no one is above the law.” But that’s not true. We have an elite class, headed up by the Clintons, that can commit crimes and get away with it. That’s got to stop. This is no Teapot Dome. This is no Watergate. This is a classic battle between good and evil, and evil cannot be allowed to win.
