Jimmy Beaumont’s heavenly voice is lead singer of one of our all time favorite groups The Skyliners. Thirteen labels reject Since I Don’t Have You. On March 23, 1959, Since I Don’t Have You lands at #12 on Billboard.

In Cashbox, the Skyliners is the first white group to top the R&B charts. Jimmy Beaumont, golden-voiced lead singer of the Skyliners, passes away at 76 on Saturday, October 9, 2017 in his sleep in his home in McKeesport, PA after a career that lasts nearly 60 years.

“Big welcome to @megynkelly,” Savannah Guthrie tweeted. “May I not be nine months pregnant in the next picture we take side-by-side!” (Photo: Twitter |@savannahguthrie)

All appears not so cherry in Megyn Kelly’s world. In addition to widespread criticism and sluggish ratings, Megyn Kelly faces another crisis. After three weeks on Megyn Kelly Today TV, no one seems to want sit in her guest chair.

A high-powered publicist, with a roster of big names, who asks us to keep their name quiet, says: I’m not booking anyone on her show. Another well-known publicist, who represents one of the celebrities who recently appears on Kelly’s show isn’t pleased with the interview. I won’t plan to have others go on.

TOM ELLIS [Veteran WABC TV NYC & WBZ TV Boston, MA & KONO-860/KONO TV San Antonio, TX news anchor] (Boston-Cape Cod-East Sandwich, MA) Hi, Jim and Suzie, Moved from KWED to KONO (860) in late ’58. Spent less than a year in Seguin, where my first son was born. By the way, when I worked at KWED, the frequency was 1390. When did it switch to 1580? It was just a thousand watter in ’58…and operated daylight hours only. I was the sign-er on-er, and worked a solo shift ALL DAY Sundays. $85 buckeroos a week. Tom

KWED-1580 according to Wikipedia with Country music format licensed to Seguin, TX owned by Seguin Media Group. Until 1987, KWED-1580 simulcasts 105.3 FM. Later. KWED FM flips its call letters to KSMG FM (Magic 105.3) as the first FM Oldies format in San Antonio, TX. KULP-1390 El Campo, TX airs a Country music format. El Campo is 2 hours (126.5 mi) SE of Seguin.

JACK PARNELL [former Program Director/DJ on WHBQ-560] (Memphis, TN) We also had constant visits from many many “stars”. One morning when Wink (Martindale) and I were coming thru the Chisca lobby after our regular 9am breakfast, We looked and sitting on the couch in the lobby were The Kalin Twins (When #5-1958). We had visit from Connie Francis, all the Nashville pickers and singers…and bunches more. Of course you know about Dewey Phillips being the first person in the world to play Elvis’ “That’s Alright Mama” on his night (9-midnight) show. Lotsa interesting folks writing/promoting/publishing/playing/singing all the hits from back then! JP
