David Canary star of soap Peyton Place plus TV Westerns Gunsmoke and Bonanza also appears in movies Hombre with Paul Newman and The St. Valentine’s Day Massacre with Jason Robards. Canary is born on August 25, 1938 in Elwood, IN gains a football scholarship to the University of Cincinnati. David earns five daytime Emmys and 16 nominations in TV soap operas Another World and All My Children. On Monday, November 16, 2015 actor David Canary dies at 77 of natural causes.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck who joins Fox News Channel’s morning program Fox and Friends in September 2013 announces on Monday, November 23, 2015 that she will exit her co-host duties on Fox News Channel’s 6-9 am morning program. Elisabeth says that she wants to spend more time with her three children. Fox News release says that a variety of co-hosts will take Hasselbeck’s seat on the couch until a permanent replacement is named.

CHRISTMAS ARRIVES IN SALISBURY Draper Holdings closes on its purchase of silent former Christian AC WOLC FM (Joy 102.5) Princess Anne/Salisbury, MD and flips it to commercial-free Christmas music as WBOC FM (102.5). Draper promises that WBOC FM’s new permanent format arrives after the Christmas holiday season. WBOC FM hires Joe Edwards as Operations Manager. Edwards moves from Delmarva Broadcasting’ Salisbury cluster after 22 years where he serves as OM of Country WKTT FM (Cat Country 97.5).

WKRP’S TURKEYS AWAY FALLS FLAT On September 18, 1978 TV series WKRP in Cincinnati premiers on CBS TV for four seasons through April 21, 1982. On October 30, 1978 in WKRP’s Turkeys Away episode Station Manager Art Carlson dreams up a masterpiece Thanksgiving promotion. Carlson will drop live turkeys down on a shopping mall. But, Turkeys cannot fly like normal birds. They cannot fly at all. Carlson, emerges from the helicopter covered in turkey feathers saying “As God as my witness I thought turkeys could fly.”

Longtime Albuquerque Isotopes and UNM Lobos public address announcer Stu Walker died Monday afternoon at age 61 after a battle with cancer. Walker worked with the Isotopes since 2003 and with the Lobos’ football and basketball teams for the last 20 years. Walker first started calling Lobo basketball games in 1995. He also called baseball and men’s soccer games for UNM, and called high school championships for NMAA. Walker was a former Albuquerque DJ and former radio newsman. “We are deeply saddened by Stu Walker’s passing,” said Vice President for Athletics Paul Krebs. “Stu was a tireless worker and loved not just the Lobos but all of Albuquerque. His voice was instantly recognized by our fans, and he will be sorely missed.”
