The names “Clinton” and “Bush” may seem so last-century – but that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
There are solid reasons NOT to nominate anyone in these two families for anything ever. The Bill-Hillary-and-Chelsea Clinton Foundation is essentially a political fundraiser for the Clintons. Yes, it does some good work. But it allows the Clintons to stay in contact with foreign governments – and to shake them down. The Foundation has clearly engaged in conflicts of interest of biblical proportions because of Hillary’s status as Secretary of State and a potential Democratic nominee.
The Bush family’s relationship with Saudi Arabia is legendary. This country needs fresh, new blood in the Oval Office – from a new generation of leaders. And then the Clintons and the Bushes can conduct themselves in the manner they please.
When President George W. Bush decided to invade Iraq, he reportedly told the Saudi ambassador before he told secretary of State Colin Powell. Why would he do that? The answer lies in the complex Bush-Saudi relationship. David Paul Kuhn, a political writer for CBS briefly outlined that relationship in an article posted on April; 20, 2004:
Both then-president Bush and the current president have had personal and deep financial ties with the Saudi royal family. Author and journalist Craig Unger documents $1.4 billion that has “made its way” from the Saudi royal family to “entities tied” to the Bush family, according to Unger’s controversial book “House of Bush, House of Saud.”
Unger contends that the documented oil holdings and affiliations of both Bush presidents has led to a policy of inaction in the post-Sept. 11 world.
“There is a fundamental piece of logic missing in the American conversation … the Saudis played a big role in terrorism, that the Bushes have very, very close to the Saudis both in business terms, personal terms, and in public policy. And it has a resulted in a non-cracking down in the Saudi role on terror,” said Unger, who lives only blocks from where the World Trade Center once stood.
“They have turned a blind eye to the Saudi role,” he added, speaking from Houston, where he is currently on a book tour.
If Jeb Bush gets the nomination, he will have to be vetted. Since his brother left office, much has arisen about this subject and the American people deserve to know more. They deserve to know everything. The Bushes may not be as outright corrupt as the Clintons – but they have this issue and others that must come to the forefront.
Where do you start? Even if the old scandals are forgotten (and Hillary was central to many of them including Whitewater, the Rose Law Firm billing records, the death of Vince Foster, cattle futures, and the firing of the White House Travel Office staff) there are plenty of new scandals. One is Bill’s insatiable appetite for the ladies. This is from the New York Post of February 14, 2015 :
Just a few weeks ago, reports broke that Bill Clinton had flown at least 11 times on “The Lolita Express” — a private plane owned by the mysterious financier and convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. According to Virginia Roberts, who claims to have been one of Epstein’s many teenage sex slaves, Clinton also visited Epstein’s private Caribbean retreat, known as “Orgy Island.”
Then, there’s Foundation-gate. Bill and Hillary have been accepting foreign money for the foundation since Hillary left the State Department. But there’s more. With the Clintons, there’s always more.
We now find out that the Clintons accepted millions of dollars from seven foreign governments DURING Hillary’s tenure at State. One of the donations violated an agreement with the Obama administration that was designed to force the Clintons to be ethical – for the purpose of preventing them from causing problems for Obama.
In one instance, the Clintons took money from Algeria — $500,000 – for earthquake relief in Haiti. Algeria was in the process at the time of lobbying the State Department on human rights issues. Handing over the money to Haiti directly would not have purchased influence for Albania.
The Bushes and the Clintons are experts at shaking off scandals.
Can the Bushes stay clean until Jeb is safely in the White House? Will Hillary shrug off these latest scandals? That remains to be seen. But to be safe, let’s nominate somebody else. We have 320,000,000 people in this country. We can do better than another Bush versus Clinton presidential race.
