Speaker John Boehner is splitting hairs, perhaps to avoid crying (with his propensity for doing the latter, he should try anything). When asked if he regretted “mocking” conservatives who don’t want to pass amnesty, Boehner objected, saying that he wasn’t “mocking” those members. Instead he was teasing them. He then blamed them for not understanding what he was doing.

Via WFB:

Really? You ‘tease the ones you love’, Mr. Speaker? That’s all you got?

Mock: to ridicule by mimicry of action or speech

Tease: to irritate or provoke with persistent petty distractions, trifling raillery, or other annoyance, often in sport.

Shortly after making a distinction without a difference by asserting that he was merely teasing his conservative caucus, Boehner pivoted to another ridiculous meme. He said that he would work toward passing amnesty if President Obama proved that he could be trusted to enforce the laws.

If Boehner doesn’t think this is ‘mocking’, he has more problems than I thought, which already include a bad case of projection:

Just once, I’d like to see Boehner ‘mock’ Obama like that.

At some point, the line between playing politics and sheer idiocy disappears. Obama is so untrustworthy and such a pathological liar that it doesn’t matter if Boehner is attempting to engage in some form of twisted, political strategy. If he doesn’t know Obama can’t be trusted, then he should not be trusted to lead the House of Representatives. If he does know Obama can’t be trusted but is making a calculation, he’s failed there too because the overwhelming majority of his party knows Obama can’t be trusted.

Boehner is flailing and failing as Speaker.

At a town hall in Salado, Texas last summer, our Congressman – Rep. John Carter (R), who was inexplicably working to pass amnesty as part of the House ‘gang of 8’, said that he would cease doing so unless Obama could be trusted to enforce the law. At that town hall, Carter actually boasted about being in a locked room with Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) once a week for four years, crafting an amnesty bill. Gutierrez is a registered socialist.

Memo to Rep. Carter… Like Boehner, if you haven’t figured out Obama can’t be trusted after four years of lies, coverups fraud, abuse, race-baiting, and a whole host of other Alinsky-style / Luciferian tactics, you’re ability to serve honestly is in question.
