LOGIC MINUTE

Government is too big. In the era of Obama with the President’s total belief in the power of government, we are seeing the opposite result of what liberals intended. us-government-we-need-a-tow

Instead of Big Government providing various safety nets and creating a “green utopia,” our current huge government has become dangerous. The Wall Street Journal’s Daniel Henninger writes:

“Suddenly, the federal bureaucracies look like a clear and present danger to the American people. Even progressive defenders of the administrative state must be getting nervous at the disarray in the response to Ebola.”

Yes – Ebola and everything else from the VA to the Secret Service to ISIS. We’ve been saying this for years –and it applies to gi-normous business mergers as well. Government is too big, too regulated, and too powerful. This will, someday, lead to massive civil disobedience. Get ready for it.

Now I want you to think about the parts of your life that government controls.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) collects federal taxes and has the power to ruin your life. The Obama administration has used it against political enemies.

The Environmental Protection Agency has become the “climate change police” and is used by Obama to implement global warming abatement that he cannot get through Congress.

The Affordable Care Act is the newest giant government bureaucracy that is not working. This power grab is clearly unconstitutional to everyone except liberals and Chief Justice John Roberts.

Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and the V.A. are all enormous federal programs. Sometimes they work; sometime they don’t.

DHS — the Department of Homeland Security is a reaction 9/11 and is supposed to keep us safe. This is from their own website:

The Department of Homeland Security has a vital mission: to secure the nation from the many threats we face. This requires the dedication of more than 240,000 employees in jobs that range from aviation and border security to emergency response, from cybersecurity analyst to chemical facility inspector. Our duties are wide-ranging, but our goal is clear – keeping America safe.

So how well is this working? And 240,00 employees — really? This monster should be busted up now. Instead of creating DHS, the Bush administration should have worked to improve existing agencies. Each agency needs a focused mission — something to concentrate on.

Our government is constitutionally a federal system. Our current bureaucratic nightmare proves that it is possible and inevitable that ever-growing government will become too big to work.
