Beto signs are popping up all over Texas – some in neighborhoods that you would expect to be conservative. It makes you wonder what these people expect to get if they succeed in replacing Senator Ted Cruz.

Robert Francis O’Rourke is an Irish-American from El Paso with a Spanish-sounding nickname.

He is running on a platform of “hope & change” for left-wingers and Republicans that don’t like Trump. The last time we elected a slick politician who spoke in platitudes without much specificity, we got 8 years of a stalled economy, flat paychecks, slow job creation, socialized medicine and a lead-from-behind foreign policy.

Dallas Morning News 8/20/18

If you liked Obama, you’ll like O’Rourke.

He has no serious policy ideas for America – just boilerplate talking points like “path to citizenship,” expand Medicaid,” “legalize marijuana,” and, of course, “impeach Trump.” He is the quintessential liberal.

The platforms of O’Rourke and Sen. Ted Cruz are direct opposites.

Gromer Jeffers, Jr. – the leftist Dallas Morning News political reporter performed a public service by listing Beto O’Rourke’s platform:

• Against building the Wall
• Supports “path to citizenship” for illegals
• Supports expanding Medicaid (probably talking trillions here)
• Supports Texas taking federal funds under Obamacare
• Supports legalizing marijuana to end the “prison pipeline” for minorities
• Wants to spend more tax dollars on early childhood education
• Would allot $10,000 per student on early childhood education
• Would vote to impeach President Trump
• Against separating families at the border*

Jeffers points out that Ted Cruz is on the opposite side of all these items.

What Jeffers did not point out is the massive cost to taxpayers of all the items – including the non-building the Wall that would cost us trillions in welfare payments to illegals.

*NOTE: Both Beto and Ted (since we’re on a first name basis here) are against separating children at the border. This is a non-issue. First, in our entire history, we have separated children from parents that go to jail. Second, Obama did it too. Third, the majority of these kids at the border are unaccompanied minors. This is a story that Mainstream Media and the Democrats colluded to fabricate.

Beto O’Rourke is a 2018 standard-issue leftist.

He’s right there with Barack Obama, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Bernie Sanders. Like Sanders, most of his ideas are budget-busters and he provides no serious way to pay for them.

Ted Cruz, on the other hand, is the more conservative senator from the nation’s top-ranked state for doing business. People flock out of states run the way Beto wants to run things – and to Texas.

The slobbering love affair continues.

It’s always worth mentioning how the MSM operates.

In a single Monday edition, the Dallas Morning News ran two articles on the O’Rourke-Cruz race. Both continued an on an inside-the section page, so that means a total of four headlines.

Story #1: Front page below the fold story by Robert T. Garrett.

This story was remarkable for mentioning a sore spot – the kneeling of NFL players during the National Anthem – that Beto roundly supports and Cruz doesn’t.

The story is headlined with only O’Rourke’s name, and it leads off with O’Rourke’s story about separation of children. On the inside continuation of the story, O’Rourke is again in the headline while Cruz is left out.

Story #2: Page 1 Metro Section by Gromer Jeffers, Jr.

In past stories, Jeffers has shown his left-wing stripes, but this time, he did us the service of actually listing the left-wing causes that O’Rourke supports. He also leads the story by mentioning O’Rourke, but cuts to Cruz in the second graph where Cruz is correctly saying that O’Rourke is all talk and virtually no serious policy. Hope & Change Beto-style.

Jeffers mentioned that Republicans usually turn out 850,000 more voters in Texas than do Democrats – but he may be simply making sure Democrats know to get their voters to the polls.

The story is headlined with only O’Rourke’s name. The inside headline mentions O’Rourke and Cruz—so that’s at least one out of 4.

Where will it end?

It’s all going to be about turnout.

The Dems have imported as many foreign leftists as they can get away with – and tried to get them nationalized for purposes of voting. They don’t shy away from fraudulent votes either – if they can get them.

If Democrats are looking for a feel-good message of Hope & Change without much substance and if they vote in large numbers O’Rourke wins. If Republicans show up in greater numbers as usual, O’Rourke loses. If O’Rourke loses, he may very well end up as a paid contributor on CNN or MSNBC.
