Remember when love of country was considered a virtue? Within several segments of the “progressive movement,” tearing down this country is a virtue. Take the education segment – especially on college campuses.
The latest incident comes from the University of California at Davis where there has been an attack on the flag.
The UC-Davis Student Senate has made it optional to display the flag at its meetings. Instead of the flag being present automatically, Senate members would be forced to petition each time if they want to display the flag.
Make no mistake. This is anti American – and there is no way to spin it.
Jose Antonio Meneses, who introduced the resolution, says it’s all about federal law. That’s BS of the highest order. This is about colleges and universities teaching students to hate the United States. Our education system needs major reform.
Students don’t even know they’re being had.
It’s kind of an old saying that if you’re not liberal when you’re young, you don’t have a heart. And if you’re not conservative when you grow up, you don’t have a brain. That’s at least somewhat true.
Young people are often concerned with “equality” and “inclusiveness” and “a woman’s right to choose” and “global warming,” and other doctrines of the Left. When they get older, they realize that in most cases, much of this stuff is dictated by the choices people make in their lives. Besides, older folks generally want less taxes while young people haven’t yet been impacted by over-reaching government.
Most young people grow up and are far smarter about politics that they were in college. But there are exceptions to the rule.
Some of these young people grow up to become Bill or Hillary Clinton.
Either these college liberals do not mature in the way conservatives so, or they have been so adjusted by their commie professors that the damage cannot be undone.
Either way, that how we get today’s big-name Democrats.
The problem with college campuses is that so many of the professors have identical ideology to Chuck Schumer, Adam Schiff, Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi – and (of course) the Clintons.
Students are fed a steady diet of leftist thought and if it sticks, they go into journalism, teaching, politics, or they move to Hollywood. It’s literally a system of churning out left-wingers. And it works.
What happens on college campuses doesn’t stay on college campuses.
The flag flap at UCD is a minor diversion perpetrated by some crazy college kids, right? Those dang kids! LOL!
What starts here changes the world.
With no apologies to my progressive alma mater, the University of Texas at Austin, we should take their slogan seriously.
What starts on college campuses often shows up in the newspapers we read, the TV news we consume, the movies we watch, the TV shows we binge on, and in the halls of political power.
Today, it’s an amusing attempt to disrespect the Stars and Stripes. Tomorrow, some of those students will take that same attitude to Washington. The Clintons did just that and so did Barack Obama.
