 Today (Sept. 19, 2019) in the Dallas Morning News, the groups that for many years have been sowing their agenda of lies, death, illness, anxiety, and grief launched their new assault on our Texas youth.

These groups are Texas Freedom Network, SIECUS, and Planned Parenthood – “The Devious Three.”  Because powerful donors support these groups, their destructive influence has infiltrated our nation for much too long through the indoctrination of our school children.

The Devious Three want to make the entire issue in our Health Ed TEKS that of sexuality; however, knowledgeable and caring adults are not going to let the Devious Three prevail. “We are taking our children back.”

We are going to make sure that our Texas public schools support the importance of each life, the long and short-term benefits of abstinence-only for teens, the well-being of students’ bodies, the formulation of positive and healthy relationships, and the protection of students’ minds from LGBTQ misinformation.

TEXAS REVIEWING AND REVISING HEALTH ED CURRICULUM STANDARDS

Texas is in the beginning stages of reviewing and revising its Health Education curriculum standards (TEKS). Texas Commissioner of Education Mike Morath and a panel of experts chosen for the purpose have set up the framework to be followed in these new Health Ed TEKS (https://tea.texas.gov/sites/default/files/Commissioner%20Recommendations%20for%20Health%20TEKS.pdf ).

Another panel of seven Health Ed experts is writing a consensus report, and they recently had a successful and amicable meeting in Austin.

Following are the excerpts taken from the Commissioner’s Report entitled “Reproduction and Sexual Health.”

REPRODUCTION AND SEXUAL HEALTH SECTION – COMMISSIONER’S REPORT

 The reproductive and sexual health strand addresses an integral part of a person’s well-being, and while parents and families are the primary educators regarding their children’s reproductive health behaviors, schools can also play an important role. Reproductive and sexual health can be integrated in an age appropriate way as early as kindergarten. Understanding a sense of self, developing skills for healthy relationships, and exploring personal safety while setting limits and boundaries are essential as a child enters kindergarten and should continue through all grade levels. Anatomy, reproduction, and pregnancy can be as simple in the early grades as discussing how a caterpillar develops into a butterfly or how plants require cross-pollination. These topics of reproduction advance as the child grows ensuring age-appropriate material. Throughout a child’s education, promotion of anatomically correct language to describe body parts is optimal. As noted in statute, abstinence from sexual activity must be presented as the preferred choice of behavior in relationships of unmarried people of school age. By the end of middle school, adolescents should understand sexual risk avoidance as the primary goal and learn sexual risk reduction methods that may be needed later in their lives. As diseases can be transmitted person to person, the most common sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) should be discussed in general terms. They can be described in categories that highlight characteristics and modes of transmission, focusing on the fact that most STDs have ZERO symptoms. Emphasis should be placed on teaching decision-making, communication, negotiation, and refusal skills; how to avoid risky situations; and increasing parent-child communication. Schools should also consider factors in the environment that may influence students’ reproductive and sexual health behaviors, including one’s family, peers, and the media. Finally, reproductive considerations can have legal implications with regard to mandatory reporting, consent, and parenting requirements.

 Excerpts from this article:

 (1) Gay and bisexual behaviors lead to HIV and other dangerous and often deadly sexually transmitted diseases.

(2) Because a much higher proportion of gay and bisexual men have HIV, then gay and bisexual men have a higher chance of having an HIV-positive partner.  

(3) Most gay and bisexual men get HIV from having anal sex, and anal sex is the riskiest type of sex for getting or transmitting HIV.  

(4) Many gay and bisexual men engage in high-risk sexual activities and are at an increased risk for other STD’s including syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia.

(5) 1 out of 7 transgender women has HIV. 

The upsetting part is that these alarming CDC statistics are only based upon HIV transmission rates.  Many other STD’s are surging through the LGBTQ community because of their aberrant behaviors.

 CONDOMS

Condoms when used correctly and consistently are most effective against those STD’s transmitted through genital fluids. However, condoms cannot offer protection against skin-to-skin STD’s such as cancer-producing HPV, genital warts, oral herpes, syphilis, molluscum contagiosum, and pubic lice/crabs because these STD’s are spread outside the condom-covered areas.

QUESTION FOR THE DEVIOUS THREE: If condoms are so effective, then why do so many adults as well as teens get pregnant even when using a condom?

ABSTINENCE — BEST ANSWER        

The surest way for teens not to get an STD is to practice abstinence before marriage and then to live in a long-term, mutually monogamous relationship.
